Brief: Create an installation for a cause to give away to the community.
Execution: A set of drawings that were created for an installation project for black Africa month. The primary inspiration for the installation is to give praise back to iconic figures in the black community that have influenced and changed the social stance of black people.
The installation was created with familiar faces to commemorate what these iconic figures have done.
The idea for the installation named “Who are we today?” is a questioned asked to people what we are doing with the sacrifices and impactful life changing acts that the iconic figures have made. There are three frames to the art piece which consist of pencil sketched portraits of the icons and mixed mediums to finish off the images.
The installation was showcased in Pretoria Art House named The Love House (2014).
